Mombo Camp Overview

Newly rebuilt, the concept of Mombo Camp is to maintain the Mombo traditions and history stretching back nearly 30 years, as well as to celebrate our Conservation Purpose – indeed, one of our greatest conservation successes: the reintroduction of black and white rhino into the wilds of Botswana.

The camp’s location – in the Mombo Concession on the northern tip of Chief’s Island within Moremi Game Reserve – is known as “the Place of Plenty” as it is considered one of the best areas for wildlife in Africa. The area boasts enormous concentrations of plains game and predators which begin virtually on Mombo’s decks, the surrounding floodplains teeming with game year round.

The nine large tented suites (including a family room) are elevated, so that those views out towards the floodplain can be enjoyed from the veranda and pergola, to say nothing of the pool deck with its private plunge pool. Inside, a sitting room, separate bedroom and bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and a bathtub with copper and brass finishings all contribute to the Wilderness ideal of responsible luxury.

Standard Tent
This camp can accommodate 18 adults and 02 children, plus 02 guide/pilot/tour leaders sharing, subject to concession numbers and/or concession availability.
• 09 x units in total comprising:
• 08 x twin-bedded luxury canvas tents each with two twin beds.
• 01 x family unit, comprising two luxury canvas tents (both en-suite) sharing an entrance and deck.
• Mattress converters are available that transform twin beds into double beds. To be arranged prior to arrival.
Plus guide/pilot/tour leader accommodation comprising:
• 01 x twin-bedded tent with shared en-suite facilities (this is shared with Little Mombo; tent of same standard as a guest tent).

Family Tent
This camp can accommodate 18 adults and 02 children, plus 02 guide/pilot/tour leaders sharing, subject to concession numbers and/or concession availability.

Abu Camp Activities

Game Drives
Game drives via open 4×4 Land Rovers each accommodate a maximum of six or seven guests, allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat. Please note that as we are in Moremi Game Reserve, night drives are not possible at Mombo Camp.

Massage Treatments
In-room massage treatments are probably the best ways in which to relax and restore within the comfort of your room or private deck.
