Camp Shonga can accommodate 10 guests in 5 individual tents, all luxuriously equipped with en-suite bathrooms and ball and claw baths, outside shower, Standing fans, fireplace and private game-viewing deck with recliner chairs and umbrella. Here, we believe that luxury and comfort in the bush is ultimately the best escape from the stresses of the world. Wander up to the main area and laze in the charming open lounge area, or dine and sip drinks on a spacious wooden deck as the game meander past. Enjoy early morning or late afternoon game drives in search of the ‘Big 5’ with an expert guide. Afterwards, return to camp to share your stories while you dine on traditional cuisine around a roaring boma fire under the stars of the African sky. Enjoy vivid storytelling by the local community including rituals that are still enacted today.

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. On this photo safari you will have the opportunity to explore and photograph Africa’s Big 5 from a private game viewing vehicle just meters away from Africa’s most magnificent animals, in a 15000 hectare private concession.

Bird Watching

The Kruger National Park is home to more than 500 species of birds. Many of these are migratory birds like the African Hoepoe. This is also the home of the Giant Eagle Owl, the Largest of all the Owls. Birds to spot include Kingfishers, Storks, Shrikes, Weavers, Herons, Eagles, Vultures, Kites and many more. With such a variety of species of birds this truly is a bird watching haven.
